In 2007 Mills conducts performances and recordings with every Australian orchestra except the Adelaide Symphony.

He has recently completed a second string quartet and is working on a third string quartet for the Jerusalem Quartet, amd revising String Quartet No. 1 for the Goldner Quartet. In 2007/2008 he is working on a series of song cycles commisioned by the Ian Potter Foundation.

He is also working on an orchestral piece for the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra's 2008 European Tour as well as a one act Ballet for the Australian Ballet..

Future plans include contucting seasons of Magic Flute, Aida and Peter Grimes and composing a Passion according to St Mark.
